Scott is a project manager, as well as an educator, author and speaker in the field of project management best practices. He is the founder and president of COPLAN AND COMPANY, a system acquisition project management firm with offices in Seattle and Louisiana. Scott focuses on applying project and change management best practices and developing and licensing FOUR®, a system acquisition software toolset.

Scott has 30 years experience providing system project management services involving planning, definition, acquisition and implementation. Scott’s project management success includes transferring a consistent approach for developing and managing projects that achieves strategic organizational objectives. Formerly with Touche Ross, Booz Allen and Hamilton, and Battelle Memorial Institute, Scott holds an MPA from the University of Washington and a BA from Beloit College. A Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Certified Professional in Healthcare Information Management Systems (CPHIMS), he is also a member of the IEEE Computer Society, Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), HIMSS Enterprise IS Steering Committee and Project Management Institute (PMI). Scott also holds a faculty position at the University of Washington School of Medicine where he teaches project management for health care information technology.

Elizabeth Coplan has more than 30 years of public relations, strategic planning and communications experience.  Her previous employers and current clients include Chief Executive Magazine, a New York based magazine; Collins Foods International, a Fortune 500 company; Deloitte and Touche, an international accounting firm; Davis Wright Tremaine, a nationally known law firm; Laird Norton Tyee, a regional financial service company; Green Diamond Resource Company, a West Coast manufacturer; and West Sound Academy, a local private school.   

Working with a diverse client base, Elizabeth honed her skills as a strategist and planner, writer and translator of complex information.   She is considered a pioneer in the field of strategic professional service marketing and was the first in the Northwest to use community service and sponsorship of public television and radio as a marketing strategy.  Elizabeth is an award winning author and the co-creator, editor and author of A Wild Ride, a nationally recognized website dedicated to parents of special needs children.

John has 25 years of systems development, programmer, analyst, and system and project management experience. John was previously employed as a network administrator and IT Director before joining COPLAN AND COMPANY as Director of Technology. John is in charge of research and development, web design, and development and implementation of our system acquisition software, FOUR. He has extensive development experience using Microsoft .NET and SQL Server to deliver web-based database-driven applications. He also has extensive experience building, modifying and testing both custom-built and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications. He is a member of PMI, HIMSS, IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, and IEEE Standards Association.
