About Us

We are system procurement project managers providing planning, acquisition and implementation services throughout North America. Our clients need new Information Technology (IT) to transform or radically change the way they deliver services. We combine project, IT and change management to implement this technology successfully.

It’s a fact that the majority of IT projects fail. Relying on project management standards alone does not work. At COPLAN AND COMPANY we seek and recommend integrated project, IT and change management methods and fresh opinions that build on our personal approach to success. That is why we developed FOUR®, our Web-based system procurement software. FOUR reduces the complexity, cost and time for system acquisition projects allowing us to focus on the human side of change that is integral to a project’s success.

Scott Coplan opened COPLAN AND COMPANY in 1991 for the freedom to learn and the opportunity to offer a public service. We are well regarded in the industry due to our prior experience and Scott’s resume, including his education, certifications and teaching appointments. Scott is also co-author of Project Management for Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) to be published by McGraw Hill in Spring 2011.

We work best with clients who also want to learn. Often we are the power behind the throne for clients who know that they want a successful system implementation to transform how their organization delivers services. We collaborate with our clients offering independent insight and open communications.

We consider each project an intellectual puzzle that we must solve using industry standards and best practices. We work with not for our clients to execute and control project activities to successfully achieve their objectives.
